What I believe
I believe in the
power of trust-based philanthropy and community-led solutions.
I believe that
communities that have experienced structural inequities are best positioned to help design strategy.
I believe that philanthropy should act as risk capital for social change,
while building the power and capacity of historically under-resourced communities to test new approaches
to long-term challenges.
An emerging generation of donors, foundation leaders and those outside of traditional philanthropic structures are embracing this approach and are moving resources at the scale and flexibility necessary to create a more just, equitable and sustainable future. Many working within established foundations are also rethinking and redesigning their practices and priorities to create enduring, positive change. I partner with these organizations and donors to amplify their work and impact.

My Approach
Whether you are leading an established foundation, building a new one, managing a pooled fund, developing a corporate giving program or aiming to achieve meaningful social change with your personal assets, everyone deserves a trusted and experienced guide to avoid common pitfalls and advance your shared aspirations. I understand where funders and donors commonly get stuck, how to overcome those obstacles and give with confidence, joy and authenticity.

I can partner with you to design your philanthropic and impact investment strategies to support innovative organizations that are making significant impact. I start by understanding your values, goals and what change you’d like to see in your community or the world, then develop capital deployment strategies to advance your vision.

This process involves a comprehensive landscape assessment of relevant partners, systems, policies and the lessons learned from previously tested solutions. I’ve spent two decades developing a deep network of leaders in the sector, whose collective wisdom will inform my recommendations.
